Solanum limbaniense is a diploid wild potato species with a small distribution in southern Peru. Little has been written about the value of this species for potato breeding, but it can be easily crossed with domesticated diploid potatoes.  In my experience, most plants produce bitter tubers, but not extremely bitter, so there is probably some potential for selecting palatable varieties of this species.  For more information, click on the information and growing instructions link above.
