Solanum mochiquense is a diploid species native to relatively low elevations in Peru.  The plants grow about as large as domesticated potatoes and have very interesting and unique ruffled foliage.  Tubers are usually small, but we had one plant that produced some three inch diameter tubers, so there is probably some potential for selection.  For more information, click on the information and growing instructions link above.
