Solanum x sambucinumum is a naturally occurring hybrid species from Mexico. It is believed to be the result of crosses between S. ehrenbergii and S. pinnatisectum. Tubers are mildly bitter and, therefore, probably unsafe to eat. Plants grown from seed may also have high glycoalkaloids. This is a diploid, 1EBN species that can only be crossed easily with other North American 1EBN potatoes. I can confirm that it crosses easily with S. jamesii. Only one accession of this species is available in the USA, so any seeds offered here are the results of crosses with related species. The tubers are pure S. x sambucinum.
