PI 245320 “Cazuela”
Solanum tuberosum subsp. andigenum 4x
Accession Details
A chilotanum type tetraploid collected in Chanco, Chile in 1958. The collector notes indicate that it was dry farmed in a dry climate. GRIN notes resistance to PVX and heat tolerance.
Observations
TPS. Round to elongate. Moderately deep eyes. Blues with white flesh. Very large plants. Short to mid stolons. Mid to late season. All long day. Abundant flowering and berrying.
Commentary
Initial seed increase 9.0g. This is listed in GRIN as an andigena type tetraploid, but Hosaka (1988) found that it has T type cytoplasm, so this is most likely chilotanum/tuberosum.
