Chinese artichoke, or crosne, is the most well-known of the Stachys tubers. Tubers reach a maximum of about 3 inches in length, although more typically about half that. We recommend that you plant or pot immediately on receipt; they don’t keep very well out of the ground. Potting is a better idea than planting out if you have trouble with voles or other rodents that may dig up the tubers over the winter.
