PI 225701 “Papa Ibis Rosada”
Solanum tuberosum subsp. andigenum 2x
Accession Details
A phureja type diploid collected in Ipiales Colombia in 1948. GRIN notes resistance to late blight, Verticillium, and good heat tolerance.
Observations
TPS. Mostly elongate with some round and ovate. Whites, yellows, reds, and blues. Most with partially colored flesh. Tubers heavily sprouted at harvest. Moderately deep eyes. Mid to late season. Short stolons. Abundant berries and good seed set.
Commentary
Initial seed increase 3.3g. I wonder if the name should be “Papa Ibia Rosada,” comparing it to oca. Although the shapes and colors are really appealing, the tubers were all heavily sprouted at harvest.
