Accession Details

A diploid potato collected in Valle Grande, Bolivia before 1959.  S type cpDNA (Hosaka 1988).

Observations

TPS.  Slow germinator, 9+ days.  Round to elliptic.  Blues, yellows, and whites.  Some yellow flesh.  Small tubers.  Some with good flavor.  Long to very long stolons.  Abundant flowering and berrying.  Very high seed set.  Many with little tuber development, probably short day.

Commentary

Looks like a probable cross with a wild species to me.  S type cpDNA indicates that the seed parent was probably a domesticated diploid, but I would wager that the pollen parent was wild.
