Phytosanitary information

Sylopash was a 2018 seedling, now passed through two years of trials.  It has a large average tuber size for the underground tubers, easily reaching three inches.  It is the yield champion among our ullucos, with an astounding average yield of 3.6 pounds per plant in 2020.  The next best are right around two pounds per plant, so I consider it a breakthrough.  Whether or not it can achieve such yields in more challenging climates remains to be seen.  Yellow tubers with yellow flesh and a white core, which can make for an interesting appearance when sliced.  There is a good, strong earthy/beet flavor to this one.  Combined with the larger size, this makes it a good choice for dishes in which ulluco will be the star.
