Solanum agrimoniifolium information and growing instructions |
Wild potatoes almost always produce unsafe levels of potato glycoalkaloids |
Solanum agrimoniifolium is a tetraploid wild potato, primarily from Guatemala. Plants can grow as much as six feet tall, but usually much less in my experience. Relatively little is known about this species and its potential for potato breeding appears to be mostly unexplored. This species is tetraploid but 2EBN, so it will cross directly with domesticated diploids, producing triploid progeny. For more information, click on the information and growing instructions link above.
Plantlet orders will include three different genotypes, which should ensure the possibility of seed production.
