Wild Potato, Solanum colombianum, 100 seeds

Solanum colombianum is a tetraploid wild potato, native to woodland areas of Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Plants grow about two feet tall and look quite similar to diploid domesticated potatoes. Relatively little is known about this species and its potential for potato breeding appears to be mostly unexplored. This species is tetraploid but 2EBN, so it will cross directly with domesticated diploids, producing triploid progeny. Plantlet orders will include three different genotypes, which should ensure the possibility of seed production.
