Solanum garcia-barrigae is a tetraploid wild potato native to a small region in northern Colombia. Very little has been written about this species, but it shares a lot in common with the polyploid species that occur from southern Central America into northern South America, like S. agrimoniifolium, S. colombianum, and S. longiconicum. This species is tetraploid but 2EBN, so it will cross directly with domesticated diploids, producing triploid progeny.
