Solanum hjertingii is a tetraploid wild potato from northern Mexico.  It has resistance to bruising.  It can be crossed directly with diploid domesticated potatoes, producing small amounts of hybrid triploid seed.  I have found the tubers of many plants to be non-bitter and presumably safe to eat, but not all.  For more information, click on the information and growing instructions link above.
