Solanum rapahanifolium is a wild potato species from Peru. It bears large numbers of spectacular deep blue flowers between June and August. The tubers are small and usually bitter, although it should be possible to make edible selections of this species. It is a diploid with 2EBN, so it can crossed to domesticated diploid potatoes, potentially introducing some of its pest and disease resistances or just the unusual flower color.
