Solanum vernei is a diploid wild potato from Argentina. Plants are reported to reach four feet in height, but mine have typically been less than half that.  This species carries resistance to late blight and it can be crossed directly with diploid domesticated potatoes.  The tubers are extremely bitter and unsafe to eat.  For more information, click on the information and growing instructions link above.
