Solanum x aemulans is a hybrid potato species from Argentina, growing in cold climates. It is thought to be a hybrid of S. acaule and S. boliviense, two species with a high amount of frost tolerance. It is small and low growing, as are many of the more cold tolerant species. Tubers are small and white, as is true of most wild species. This species occasionally turns up palatable selections. It is tetraploid and 2EBN, so it can be crossed directly with domesticated diploids, producing triploid progeny. For more information, click on the information and growing instructions link above.
