Sea Kale, Cultivariable Standard

Cultivariable Standard is the main sea kale variety that I have used for thong production since 2015.  If you are going to grow one sea kale variety, this is the one I recommend.  It was selected as the best performer from a mass cross of varieties derived from Lily White and wild collected seeds. It is a robust variety, reliably producing both shoots and seeds the year after planting in our climate. In less ideal climates, you might want to give it a second year to establish before harvesting shoots. Stems and shoots are fully green and this variety produces a very mild, pure white sprout when blanched.
